The Community Partnership Fund provides opportunities for the Foundation to solve problems and contribute to building a stronger, safer and more enjoyable Memphis.
The Fund's unrestricted gifts are used to address pressing community needs so that we can make a bigger difference in our community.
Recent grants from this Fund have: - Continued to support Teach for America, which helps recruit top-notch college graduates to teach in Memphis City Schools
- Participated for the second year in the Strengthening Communities Initiative, a partnership of the Community Foundation, the University of Memphis and the United Way of the Mid-South, in five neighborhood projects.
- Supported Project Green Fork which helps restaurant owners reduce waste, lower overhead and decrease their environmental impact.
- Provided a grant to the Wolf River Trail and Greenway Initiative as part of the River Partnership of Community Foundations.
- Helped to break the cycle of crime through a grant to JIFF, Juvenile Intervention & Faith-based Follow-up, works with adolescent boys who have been involved in the criminal justice system.
Anyone can give to the Community Partnership Fund; there is no minimum gift. Volunteers and staff research and recommend grants. The Board of Governors, as representatives of the community, approve the grants that best serve our community’s needs.
Over the years, the Community Foundation has made a considerable impact in meeting the needs of our community and in building stronger nonprofit agencies.
In recent years, the Community Foundation has awarded more than $700,000 annually through the Community Partnership Fund.
