A heartfelt thanks for Board service

We close this chapter with deep gratitude for four Board of Governors members who have completed their nine-year terms and joined the Community Foundation’s list of esteemed Honorary Trustees.

A graphic announcing “Recognizing our new Honorary Trustees” for the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, featuring photos of Alisa Haushalter, Jay Healy, Jeanne Jemison, and Ray Pohlman, with heartfelt thanks for their dedicated board service.

Each brought something singular to this work. Dr. Alisa Haushalter guided us with steady, evidence-grounded wisdom through the uncertainty of COVID and lent her voice and expertise to our ad-hoc DEI Committee at a pivotal moment. Jay Healy‘s disciplined, expert stewardship of the Investment Committee gave our assets—and our confidence—a strengthened position we’ll build on for years to come. Dr. Jeanne Jemison showed up for the Community Initiatives Committee with both her whole heart and sharp mind, embodying the connection between mission and community that makes this work matter. And Ray Pohlman embraced the FOREVER Funds endowment campaign not as an obligation but as a cause, stepping forward as an early champion when that kind of belief counts most.

What united them was just as meaningful as what set them apart: a willingness to ask the hard questions, an authentic pride in representing the Community Foundation, and an abiding commitment to the people and place we all serve.
