Black Philanthropy Month Open House & 1:1 Profile Support
Black Philanthropy Month is a national celebration of Black giving traditions and a call to action to support Black-led organizations doing vital work in our community. Join the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis for an open house designed to help you understand what Black Philanthropy Month is all about and how you can take part.

We’ll walk through the history and purpose of Black Philanthropy Month, share how Black-led nonprofits can set expectations for participation, and answer your questions about getting involved this August. You’ll also get hands-on, one-on-one support setting up or refining your nonprofit’s profile on LIVEGIVEmidsouth, the platform powering Give 8/28, our national day of giving to Black-led nonprofits in the Mid-South.
Whether you’re a nonprofit leader hoping to maximize your Give 8/28 participation or simply want to learn more about how to support Black philanthropy in Memphis, this session will give you the tools and information you need.

About Give 8/28
Give 8/28 is a national initiative promoting financial giving to Black-led-and-benefiting nonprofits, and we are proud to have introduced the concept to Greater Memphis.
The initiative, led by the Young, Black, and Giving Back Institute in Washington, D.C., was founded in 2018. Since its inception, it has grown significantly and leverages online fundraising and crowdfunding tools to drive donations.
